Meet Dr. T
Hi, I'm Dr. Thuydy Nguyen, though most people know me as Dr. T.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Certified Sex Therapist (CST), and hold a PhD in Clinical Sexology. I provide virtual therapy to individuals and couples throughout Texas, Florida, Delaware, and Vermont.
I specialize in trauma, relationships, intimacy, compulsive sexual behavior, and ADHD. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to explore your experiences, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and develop practical tools that support meaningful and lasting change.
I believe therapy is not about fixing who you are. It is about understanding your experiences, recognizing patterns that no longer serve you, and learning new ways to move toward the life and relationships you want.

My Philosophy
I believe our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and nervous system are all connected. Rather than asking what is wrong with you, I believe it is more helpful to ask what experiences shaped you and how those experiences continue to influence your life today.
Many of the challenges people experience are understandable responses to difficult experiences, unmet needs, or patterns that once helped them cope. Therapy is an opportunity to understand those patterns with compassion, develop healthier ways of responding, and create lasting change.
My role is not to tell you how to live your life. My role is to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and make choices that align with your values and goals.
Areas of Specialty
Trauma & PTSD
Trauma can affect how we think, feel, connect with others, and respond to everyday stress. Together, we will work to understand how your experiences have shaped your nervous system while building practical skills that support healing and resilience.
Relationships & Couples
Healthy relationships require communication, trust, emotional safety, and understanding. Whether you are navigating conflict, rebuilding after betrayal, preparing for marriage, or strengthening your connection, I help couples develop healthier patterns of communication and connection.
ADHD & Neurodivergent Living
Living with ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence can affect relationships, organization, emotional regulation, and daily life. My goal is to help you better understand how your brain works while developing strategies that build on your strengths.
Sex Therapy
Sexual concerns are common, yet many people feel uncomfortable talking about them. I provide a respectful, judgment free environment to address concerns related to desire, intimacy, arousal, erectile dysfunction, painful sex, orgasm, communication, and sexual wellness.
LGBTQIA+ and Kink Affirming Care
Everyone deserves access to respectful and affirming mental health care. I welcome individuals and couples from diverse identities, orientations, relationship structures, and lifestyles while providing care that is inclusive, compassionate, and free from judgment.
Compulsive Sexual Behavior
Compulsive sexual behavior is often more complex than the behavior itself. Together we explore emotional regulation, trauma, shame, attachment, and the patterns that contribute to unwanted behaviors while working toward healthier ways of coping and connecting.
My Approach
Trauma Informed Care
Healing begins with creating emotional safety. I recognize how past experiences influence the present and tailor treatment with sensitivity, respect, and collaboration.
Attachment Focused
Our earliest relationships often influence how we connect with others throughout life. Understanding attachment patterns can improve communication, trust, and emotional intimacy.
Practical & Goal Oriented
Insight is important, but meaningful change also requires action. I strive to provide strategies, exercises, and skills that you can apply in everyday life between sessions.
Evidence Based
I integrate research supported approaches with practical tools that fit your unique needs, goals, and experiences.
Collaborative
Therapy is a partnership. You bring your experiences and strengths. I bring clinical knowledge, guidance, and support. Together we create a plan that works for you.

Beyond the Therapy Room
Education has always been an important part of my work. Through Dr. T Explains, I create educational videos, workshops, presentations, and practical resources that make complex mental health and relationship topics easier to understand.
Whether I am working with therapy clients, speaking to community organizations, or creating educational content online, my goal is the same: to help people better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and make informed decisions about their mental and sexual health.
I believe knowledge creates awareness, awareness supports change, and change creates opportunities for healing.
